Together with our Belgian partner, Evodis, we hosted leakage engineers and managers from five Belgian water companies SWDE, CILE, INBW, ASPAC and PIDPA. They enjoyed visits to Primayer customers, Anglian Water and Portsmouth Water.
Anglian Water outlined their holistic approach to the problem of leakage to our visitors at their Shop Window facility in Newmarket – a real-world testbed to trial the latest innovations. This included their water saving education and behaviour change campaign for customers, the installation of grey water tanks, and the ability to monitor their networks remotely. They were also able to discuss their leakage strategy at Anglian in depth, alongside their collaboration with Primayer to develop and install smart hydrophone technology in order to pinpoint leaks.
Meanwhile on day two we visited Portsmouth Water who explained and demonstrated how crucial Primayer equipment was to their management of leakage. The Belgians were amazed by the excellent results the Portsmouth leakage team had achieved with the Primayer hydrophone leak logger, the Engima3hyQ. Reducing leaks so effectively may impact Portsmouth Water’s plans to build new reservoirs. Many thanks to Anglian Water and Portsmouth Water for making this visit so informative and productive.
