Advanced acoustic leak location system

Mikron is a high performance leak locator. The design is based upon an advanced sensor and incorporates low-noise processing electronics to give excellent acoustic performance over a wide frequency range. Mikron incorporates a Minimum Noise Level measurement system.

The leak noise travels through the water and pipe wall and can be detected by listening at valves or hydrants. Leak noise also propagates from the leak to the ground surface where it can be detected using the sensitive ground microphone.

Minimum Noise Level digital display
To enable accurate leak pinpointing Mikron displays the Minimum Noise Level, i.e. the background noise level which will potentially include the leak noise, but without transient noises, such as road traffic. Mikron also displays the two previous Minimum Noise Level measurements such that the user can easily tell if they are moving toward or away from a leak. The current sound level, volume position and battery charge are also displayed.
